An open top container has solid steel walls and cargo doors but uses a removable weather-resistant cover instead of a permanent steel roof. The cover is normally supported by removable roof bows and secured around the top.
Some models also have a movable or removable upper door header to provide additional loading clearance.

What Should You Check?
Inspect the removable cover for tears, worn attachment points or missing parts. Check the roof bows, top rails, doors, locking bars, floor and drainage points.
Look for serious corrosion, structural damage or repairs around the upper frame. If the container will be used for transportation, confirm that its condition and certification meet the relevant requirements.
A removable cover may not provide exactly the same protection as a solid steel roof. Discuss the cargo and expected weather exposure with your supplier.
Plan the Delivery and Loading Area
The site should have firm, level ground and enough clearance for the delivery vehicle. If a crane will load the container, confirm safe overhead space and keep clear of power lines, trees and structures.
